NEWUNI is one of the winners of the European Union ERASMUS+ CBHE Capacity Building in Higher Education (ERIC-GE) competition.

The project “Strengthening Research and Innovation Capacities in Georgian Higher Education Institutions” (ERIC-GE) will be implemented over the next two years and will be coordinated by the Institute of Georgian Technical University “Techinformi”. The consortium includes 8 higher education institutions – 6 from Georgia and 2 from Europe. The project has received 355,977 euros in funding over the next two years.

The project will contribute to the expansion of international cooperation and academic opportunities, the development of innovative educational programs, the introduction of modern methods of scientific assessment and their integration into the educational process.

ERIC-GE ​​(Enhancing Research and Innovation Capacities in Georgia’s Higher Education) aims to strengthen the research and innovation potential of Georgian higher education institutions, based on European experience. It also aims to improve the quality of research, ensure compliance with international standards and increase the competitiveness of Georgian higher education institutions.

The project will develop a new university course in scientometrics and an innovative intensive training module for academic staff and scientists.
